My phone showed me a photo from 2014 this week—and I couldn’t stop thinking about the stories behind it.
It’s just a simple group picture, but every person in it represents a piece of what God has been building over the years.
Allyssa was the only girl in the group back then. Since that day, she met Razvan, got married, and now they’re raising three kids while serving as missionaries in Craiova. Watching her story unfold has been incredible.
Rob and Danny—our “three amigos”—spent years serving alongside me. From trips to Romania to helping collect Boxes of Hope each Christmas, they’ve poured so much into this ministry and the lives of others.
Max was a steady presence on our board and in Romania. The kids at House of Hope loved him. These days, his family has grown in the best way—now surrounded by married sons and a whole crew of grandkids.
David became one of my closest friends during my time in Baltimore. Early morning breakfasts, long conversations, and walking through hard seasons together built a friendship I still deeply value.
And Mihai—he was just a teenager in that photo. Now he’s a pastor, author, husband, and dad. We still serve together each summer at camp, and now he’s the one investing in the next generation.
One photo… so many stories of faith, friendship, and lives changed.
Moments like this remind me how much God has done—and how many people, like you, have been part of it along the way.
As we get ready to celebrate 30 years this September, we’re collecting stories and memories. If Remember the Children has been part of your story, I’d love for you to share it.
