A Bigger Vision for Romania
A Special Note from Andy Baker & the RTC Board of Directors:
Over the last five years, our leadership has been prayerfully considering long-term succession plans for the work of Remember the Children. We’re excited to announce that later in 2026, RTC will formally merge with our long-time ministry partner, Christian Missionary Fellowship (CMF), and become CMF-Romania.
This brings together the strengths of both ministries. RTC offers 30 years of experience in Romania, deep cultural understanding, and trusted relationships with local leaders. CMF brings more than 75 years of global ministry experience, strong teams, proven systems, and additional resources to help ministry in Romania and Eastern Europe grow in ways we could not accomplish alone.
Most importantly, we share the same vision: to see the gospel proclaimed, believers discipled, churches planted, and local leaders equipped to lead.
As part of this transition, CMF will take on day-to-day operations, allowing Andy to focus more fully on teaching, training, and mentoring—the areas he is most passionate about. He will serve as CMF’s Director of Eastern Europe, continuing to lead and invest in ministry on the ground in Romania.
What will change is the support behind the work. CMF will bring additional resources and people to help build a strong, sustainable future for ministry in Romania and throughout Eastern Europe.
This is not a pause or an end—it is the next natural step in the work God has entrusted to us. We hope you will continue walking with us into this next chapter. We believe that, together, God can use this partnership—and your continued generosity—to create an even greater legacy of eternal impact in Romania.
Andy and Gerri, along with the teams and partners of RTC and CMF, are praising God with you for His kindness and faithfulness. We can’t thank you enough for your continued generosity and trust. We believe the best is yet to come—for the work of Remember the Children, for our partners, and for the people of Romania.
CMF Executive Director, Kip Lines and several members of CMF will be joining us on September 27th for our 30th Anniversary Celebration Dinner & Auction. We hope you will plan to join all of us as we celebrate what God has done and look ahead to this new season of ministry!
Same leadership. Same mission. more resources.
Questions You May Have…
What will happen to my current giving?
If you currently give to RTC, your giving will eventually transition to CMF through a dedicated Romania Fund. All donations to CMF’s Romania Fund will be used to support ministry in Romania.
What will happen to my child sponsorship?
RTC child sponsorships will continue without interruption through 2031, when we anticipate the final student will graduate from House of Hope. Your support remains vital in helping each child finish strong. Sponsorship updates will come from CMF.
Will the work in Romania continue?
Yes. The mission remains the same, operating under CMF-Romania, to allow for greater reach and long-term sustainability. You will still have a familiar connection through Andy and Gerri Baker as well as RTC’s existing Romanian missions partners.
Will church planting continue?
Yes. Church planting has always been central to the mission, and that will not change. Through CMF, an organization deeply committed to multiplying churches worldwide, we are positioned to do this work for years to come.
What is Andy’s role moving forward?
Andy Baker will serve as CMF’s Director of Eastern Europe, providing leadership and continuity for the ongoing work in Romania. His focus will be raising up the next generation of local leaders through teaching, mentorship, and development.
Will there still be opportunities to serve?
Yes. Sending teams and interns to serve in Romania remains a priority. Opportunities to support special projects will continue through CMF–Romania.
What happens to the summer programs?
Programs like VBS, camps, and community outreach will continue each summer in Romania through CMF REACH interns, led by Andy Baker. These programs remain a powerful way to share hope with children and families.
Why merge with CMF?
This step represents continued growth, not a change in direction. CMF shares our mission and brings decades of global ministry experience. By joining together, we can build on what has already been established and continue serving the people of Romania for generations to come.
