It started as a fairly normal morning until I received a call about four siblings who had been found abandoned. They are young (12, 8, 6, and 5) and in that moment, they needed somewhere safe to go.
Situations like this are never simple. As I reflected on what had happened to these kids, I resisted the urge to judge or assign blame. There are often layers of hardship behind them we may never fully understand. The need in front of us was clear, and it's in moments like that urgency and compassion are what is needed.
Within hours, these four children were welcomed into House of Hope. One of the most important things we were able to do was keep them together. In the middle of this life altering reality, they still have each other—something that brings stability and comfort.
Since arriving at House of Hope, they’ve had a safe place to sleep, regular meals, and caring adults around them. They’re beginning to settle in, spending time together, playing, and slowly adjusting to a new environment.
Your support made this possible.
Because of faithful giving through Remember the Children, we were able to respond to this situation right away—providing not just immediate care, but the ongoing support these children will need in the months ahead. Things like food, education, healthcare, and emotional support, made possible through our monthly child sponsors, help them move forward.
There’s still a long road ahead for these precious children, but they are no longer facing it alone.
Thank you for being a vital part of changing lives in communities you may never visit and among people you may never meet. Your generosity and partnership make lasting hope tangible.
