Finishing the First Semester in Tanzania

Students and staff just wrapped up the first semester in the history of Eternal Pre and Primary School. Since the building opened in February and the school officially launched, 59 children from the surrounding area have enrolled alongside the 130 children from Eternal Families Village. We look forward to enrolling more next semester and have already received impressive feedback from community members. Below is an update from Yohana Dioniz, our communications coordinator in Tanzania.

"The end of May is the time to prepare for school closing and summer vacation time for students here in Tanzania. At Eternal Schools, we have enjoyed our first semester with the students. On May 30th, we gathered with all students to give some instruction before finishing the term. We also listened to presentations, demonstrating the progress of each child. It is truly a joy to see how the children are improving academically. In addition to hearing the presentations, we took time to give the children's results according to their classes, and we encouraged those who performed very well by giving them a backpack, hand watch, a mathematical set, and a ruler. This is to motivate them and encourage others to work harder in their studies.

We also called for an end of term meeting with parents to hear if they have any suggestions or challenges regarding the school. Parents praised the leadership of Eternal Schools and the teachers for their generosity. More importantly, some parents, who transferred their children to the school, have noticed academic improvement, especially in mathematics, science and speaking English fluently. One parent said, "My child finds it difficult to understand when being taught, but I am grateful that since we brought him here, when we give him exercises and questions at home, he has shown great improvement." We truly have no words to express our gratitude for the support we receive from our donors to fulfill the dreams of Tanzanian children. May God bless you abundantly!"
